Ingredients
  

For the Hamburgers
  • 2 lbs ground chuck (80/20)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 hamburger buns
For Serving (Optional)
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheese
  • Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, gently combine ground chuck, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Do not overmix. Divide into 4 equal portions and form into 3/4-inch-thick patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
  2. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (375-450°F). Clean and lightly oil the grates.
  3. Place patties on the grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. If adding cheese, place it on the patties during the last minute of cooking.
  4. Lightly toast the buns on the grill during the last minute of cooking. Assemble the burgers with your favorite toppings and serve immediately.
